September 11th, 2018 39 weeks on the dot. Born at 1:55pm, 7lbs 5.5oz, 20" long.
Bristols original due date was September 11th, 2016 my niece Kendall was also expected on September 11th, 2017 neither of which were born on September 11th, but in 2018 we finally got a baby on that day :)
As I mentioned in my previous post, I had been having a few issues with my stomach condition this pregnancy and chose to be induced at 39 weeks. So on Tuesday September 11th at 12:15am Tyson and I entered St. Alexius excited and nervous for the arrival of baby #2.
Who can sleep when your excited to have a baby? I was super fortunate to have my favorite coffee shop, Bitty Bean, deliver me a Titanium Coffee, if you haven’t tried them, stop by….they even deliver!
From the moment I entered the delivery ward of St. Alexius I was impressed with the staff. I might be bias but I love the nurses, PAs and doctors. Nurse Nancy will forever hold a special place in my heart as she was there to help me get threw all the hard stuff and welcome our daughter. You never forget your delivery nurse, with Bristol it was a girl named Trista and her smile still resonates to this day. Thank you Nancy and all of the nurses for everything you do!
At 1:55pm Rowan Rose entered the world. This delivery was amazing. I told Tyson that it went so well, it was dangerous. I feel like we could have at least 2 more kids….if not like 5 :) The only thing missing from this delivery was a fluffy robe, a facial and some chocolate!
One of my favorite memories of this delivery was having my good friend Sommer in the room. She is one of the PA’s and got to spend the day with me, she even broke my water and held my legs……friend of the year!
Dr. Delvo was of course a rock star. Anyone who knows her is aware of her ability to walk in the room and make you feel calm. She is always smiling and speaks in a way that just makes you feel safe and secure which a woman needs when she is growing/deliving a baby. I recommend her to every single person I know, or don’t know for that matter!
While St. Alexius has a strict no photo or video while delivering rule, my husband was allowed to photograph before and immediately after the delivery which I am incredibly thankful for. Moments like these are great to look back at, the time goes so fast and you forgot a lot of what is going on. Thank you Tyson for making sure these moments are forever documented, you did a great job.
Bristol had been asking to bring her sissy home from the hospital for a few weeks. When we called her to say she was here and she could come meet her you could hear the excitement. Dad met her downstairs with a gift for baby.
I was so nervous for this moment. I cried leaving Bristol at my parents house as we drove to the hospital, worried she would be sad that she wasn’t getting all the attention. Contemplating how we would structure our time to ensure both children are feeling equally loved. Would she be jealous? Mad? Sad? Hate us?…..Nope. She was happy! She was so proud to be a big sister. So happy to cuddle and kiss on her. She had zero intentions of sharing her with anyone that evening and spends every minute of the day looking after Rowan.
Those adorable chubby cheeks have already slimmed down at 4 weeks old and its making miss the baby chubs. Time goes so fast when your happy, make sure your embracing every minute! I’ve always loved Fresh 48 sessions because baby changes so much in the first few weeks. I’m really glad I set aside time to take pictures, even if I was a little tired and super hungry.
Going from a family of 3 to 4 has been a drastic difference. Mornings are currently our biggest struggle and bath time is a disaster! I count down the days each time tyson leaves for work or hunting but I know these days go fast and soon both girls will be ignoring my phone calls and skipping curfew.
Rowan Rose is the perfect addition to our family. Her big blue eyes, yes you read that right, and her chubby little self just ask for constant cuddles. Bristol practically fights Tyson and I to cuddle Rowan. I’m so excited to see what sort of personality she will have and can’t wait to show her the world.
